The inspection team was led by State Project Coordinator Dr. Dahir Muhammad Hashim and included key project staff and relevant stakeholders. The team inspected boreholes located at the College of Nursing and Sciences in Madobi and the School of Midwifery in Gezawa Local Government Area (LGA).
During the inspection, Dr. Dahir emphasized the commitment of His Excellency, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf’s administration, to addressing water scarcity issues in communities within the project catchment areas. He noted the importance of ensuring access to clean water and directed the installation of solar street lights at the borehole sites to enable communities to fetch water around the clock.
In addition to the facilities at Madobi and Gezawa, the inspection team visited various Tsangaya schools in Dawakin Kudu, Warawa, Madobi, Dala, Gwale, and Gezawa LGAs.
These efforts align with the ACReSAL Project Development Objective (PDO) as outlined in Component B2, which focuses on “Community Investment.” This component aims to strengthen and support community structures through a Community-Driven Development approach, addressing basic life necessities such as potable water for domestic use, animal rearing, and irrigation purposes to promote sustainable development.
