Kano State Project Coordinator Inspects ACReSAL Rehabilitation Efforts

Dr. Dahiru Muhammad Hashim, the State Project Coordinator for the Agro-Climatic Resilience in Semi-Arid Landscape (ACReSAL) project, led a team today to inspect the ongoing shelter belt rehabilitation and borehole construction initiatives undertaken by Kano-ACReSAL. This inspection is part of a larger effort to restore degraded lands throughout the state.

The purpose of the inspection tour was to assess the quality of the completed work and determine its readiness for eventual handover to the relevant authorities. Accompanied by staff from the State Project Management Unit (SPMU) and project contractors, Dr. Hashim visited the Gaza ‘yar-igiya community in Tofa and Kunya Local Government Areas, where solar-powered boreholes have been installed to alleviate water-related stress.

Additionally, the team inspected rehabilitation efforts at the Yambawa shelter belt in Makoda Local Government Area, further highlighting the project’s commitment to enhancing environmental resilience in the region.
