The Kaduna State Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources hosted an important event to unveil a new climate change policy, supported by ACReSAL and Lafia Projects. Dr. Dahir M. Hashim, Kano State Project Coordinator for ACReSAL, represented National Project Coordinator Mr. Abdulhamid Umar during the ceremony.
Themed “Stakeholders Engagement and Launching of Climate Change Policy & Position Statement for Kaduna State,” the event centred on the significance of the newly developed policy. Dr. Hashim praised the committee’s commitment to the policy’s development and expressed optimism about its successful implementation, highlighting its potential to address climate change challenges in Kaduna State and the broader Northern Nigeria region.
The policy document was officially unveiled by several dignitaries, including Kaduna State Governor Senator Uba Sani, the Federal Minister of Environment, and the Kaduna State Commissioner of Environment and Natural Resources, along with other key stakeholders. This initiative marks a crucial step toward enhancing climate resilience in the region.
