In his address, Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf announced the allocation of over ₦600 million to facilitate full compensation for Project Affected Persons (PAPs). This move underscores the administration’s dedication to social justice, inclusive growth, and the welfare of communities long affected by severe environmental challenges over the past 40 years, which have led to loss of lives and property.

The governor expressed satisfaction at witnessing the fulfillment of the government’s promises to create a safe environment for Bulbula-Gayawa residents, urging affected individuals to judiciously utilize their compensation to benefit their families and communities.

Earlier, Dr. Dahiru Muhammad Hashim, the State Commissioner for Environment and Chairman of the Project’s Steering Committee, praised the government, Federal support, and the World Bank for their commitment to restoring the socio-economic vibrancy of the communities. He also commended community and religious leaders, local associations, and the site committee for their resilience and support in the project’s realization.

Representing the Project Affected Persons, Muhammad Danlarabawa, Chairman of the Community Association, thanked the state, federal governments, and the World Bank for their unwavering commitment to addressing environmental and land degradation issues impacting their communities.
