The session was held at the conference hall of the Kano-ACReSAL office following a field visit to replace missing trees at one of its intervention sites in Gabasawa LGA.
The team expressed satisfaction with the level of success recorded and offered key recommendations on addressing challenges such as animal intrusion, sustaining continuous community engagement, and enhancing women’s participation, among others. They also emphasized the importance of strengthening collaboration and partnership with stakeholders to share ideas, solve problems creatively, and achieve common goals.
In his remarks, the State Project Coordinator, Malam Aminu Gidado Yusha’u, commended the mission team for their technical support in ensuring the success of the intervention in Kano State.
He also appreciated the Kano-ACReSAL team, particularly the focal staff, for their determination and commitment toward achieving the project’s goals.
Approximately 5,000 seedlings of four tree species; Acacia, Parcia, Tamarind, Baobab, and Mahogany were successfully replanted during the beating-up exercise to replace missing plants.
The mission participants included the Co-TTL Engr. Chinedu from the World Bank, focal person and technical assistant from the Food and Agricultural Organisations (FAO), Federal Project Management Unit-ACReSAL delegation, key stakeholders from the project participating States among others.
