Kano-ACReSAL Constructs Five Additional Solar-Powered Boreholes to Alleviate Water Scarcity

Kano, Nigeria – As part of its ongoing commitment to addressing water scarcity in communities across the state, Kano-ACReSAL has successfully constructed five additional solar-powered boreholes.

The State Project Coordinator, Dr. Dahiru Muhammad Hashim, led a delegation from the State Project Management Unit (SPMU) to inspect the newly completed projects located in Kwankwasiyya Village (three boreholes), Mariri Community (one borehole), and Yelwa Community (one borehole) in the historic city of Kano.

The primary aim of this inspection was to evaluate the progress of the borehole projects and provide any necessary technical guidance to ensure their effective implementation. Dr. Hashim was accompanied by key SPMU personnel, including Mr. Sulaiman Abubakar Sulaiman, the Water Resources Specialist; Mr. Buhari Bello, the Project Engineer; and Mr. Aminu Yushau Gidado, the Monitoring and Evaluation Specialist, among others.

These new additions to the water supply infrastructure are expected to significantly improve access to clean and safe water for the communities, contributing to better health outcomes and overall quality of life.

Dr. Hashim reaffirmed Kano-ACReSAL’s dedication to enhancing water accessibility and environmental sustainability through innovative and sustainable practices, stating, “Our goal is to ensure that every community has reliable access to safe water, which is essential for development and well-being.”
