ACReSAL Launches Maiden Step Down Training on Peace Building for SPMU Staff

Kano, Nigeria – The State Project Management Unit (SPMU) of the ACReSAL project has successfully conducted its inaugural Step Down Training focused on "Peace Building: Resolving the Roots of Conflict." This initiative aims to promote sustainable peace through innovative approaches that empower staff to extend their knowledge and experiences throughout the organization.

In collaboration with Search for Common Ground, ACReSAL has embarked on a comprehensive capacity-building program for its key personnel, emphasizing conflict mediation, monitoring, and reporting. The goal is to transform how individuals, organizations, and governments address conflicts, shifting from adversarial methods to cooperative solutions.

The training sessions, held today at the Conference Hall of the SPMU, equipped participants with essential skills in conflict monitoring and reporting, Early Warning Early Response techniques, and understanding the roles of various stakeholders in mediation success. This knowledge is crucial for ensuring the smooth implementation of ACReSAL project activities across communities.

Participants actively engaged in the training, taking on facilitator roles to maximize the benefits of their learning experience. The collaborative effort seeks to help conflicting parties recognize their differences while focusing on their commonalities, ultimately fostering a more peaceful environment.
