Kano-ACReSAL Calls for Sustainable Use of Solar-Powered Boreholes in Falgore Communities

Kano State Project Coordinator for the Kano-ACReSAL initiative, Dr. Dahir Muhammad Hashim, has urged the neighboring communities of Falgore to make the most of the newly constructed solar-powered boreholes. His appeal came during the formal commissioning event of three solar-powered boreholes, which aim to improve access to potable drinking water for residents.

Dr. Hashim emphasized the importance of sustainable utilization practices for the facilities to ensure they serve the communities effectively over the long term.

In response, the Ward Head of Falgore, Alhaji Hamza II, voiced gratitude on behalf of the local leadership, acknowledging the positive impact of the solar-powered boreholes in alleviating the water accessibility challenges faced by residents.

Additionally, Dr. Hashim led a team comprising project staff and representatives from the Kano Zoological Garden on an inspection of the local forest reserve. The tour aimed to assess the current condition of the forest, identifying areas of destruction and potential intervention strategies that the project could implement.

The efforts of Kano-ACReSAL are part of a broader initiative to enhance community resources and promote environmental health in the region.
